Terms of use

Kindred is a family archive. You may start a tree, invite relatives with a code, keep names and papers, and order a book. By using Kindred you agree to these terms.

You are responsible for what you add. Only add names, photographs, and papers you have the right to keep. Do not use Kindred to harass anyone, or to publish private facts about a living person who asked you not to.

The person who creates a tree is its guardian. Relatives who join with a code can add and edit as the tree allows. A read-only link can be read, never edited. We may close an account that is abusive, unlawful, or that pretends to be someone else.

Kindred House, hardcovers, and the child’s book are paid through Stripe. Print is fulfilled by Gelato. Prices are shown before you pay. Digital House can be cancelled from Account; a year already paid is not refunded unless the law says otherwise. A printed book is made to order and is not returned except where a print is faulty.

Kindred is provided as it is. We try to keep the archive safe, but we are not liable for lost stories, delayed print, or a relative’s edits. These terms are governed by the law of Portugal, without regard to conflict of laws.
